“A third of the grapes were harvested whole, lending the fruit sweetness and vibrancy. An intense, luminous wine with crisp tannins.” (RVF Special Vintage 2014 – June 2015) With its ruby-red color, Camille offers a concentrated nose of black fruit coulis (blackcurrant, blackberry...) delicately blended with toasty nuances from its barrel aging. The palate is round and rich, with silky tannins that promise a great wine for aging. A truly beautiful Sancerre!

Wine rated (2015 guide) 16-17/20 (Very good wine)

Rated estate (2026 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

A third of the grapes were left on the vine, lending the fruit sweetness and vibrancy. An intense, luminous wine with crisp tannins.

About the estate:

The Raimbault brothers, Julien and Clément, embody the new generation of Sancerre winemakers. Over the past few vintages, we’ve been delighted to see a more relaxed approach to the wines’ expression. They’re now more laid-back and indulgent, while retaining the precision that has become their trademark. 2022, a sunny vintage, is a masterful balancing act! 2023, unsurprisingly, has produced wines that are more refined and elegant.

A remarkable Sancerre made from Pinot Noir. Round and full-bodied on the palate, with silky, supple tannins and notes of red fruit. A lovely, lingering finish. I’ll have fond memories of this wine—and the roasted quail as well.
