A simple but pleasant Syrah. A great introduction to this grape variety.

Let it breathe in a decanter for a few hours to bring out the flavors of blackberries and slightly peppery menthol.

This wine is quite typical of a Northern Rhône Syrah, with peppery and licorice-like notes on the palate. It certainly holds its own against many Crozes sold at higher prices. The concept is quite amusing, with the pun involving the “6 rats” depicted, each of which is named after an aroma associated with the grape variety. A nice touch for those who, like me, love this grape variety at this price point.
