"Here, we are undoubtedly in the garrigue, with blackberries and raspberries, and, as the name of the cuvée suggests, the freshness of north-facing vines." (Le Monde - May 24, 2019) (Le Monde - May 24, 2019) The challenge for the great southern winemakers is not to obtain ripe grapes, but to know how to balance the richness of their berries with a beneficial freshness. This has been achieved here with this Gigondas from north-facing plots. Once despised, these vines now show off their strengths. Once despised, these vines are now showing off their strengths. Ventilated by the dry, cold mistral wind, they are protected from disease and allow for slow ripening, offering aromas of great clarity. The ideal companion for all your meals!

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
François Dauvergne and Jean-François Ranvier are part of a new generation of young wine merchants in the Rhône Valley. Deeply involved in the production of their wines, they work with their winemaker friends throughout the year and preserve the expressions of the terroirs. The style is structured without excess, with perfect aromatic definition. The duo continues to evolve, and their range extends from Hermitage in the north to Luberon in the south, including Côte-Rôtie, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, and Costières-de-Nîmes, and now even includes partnerships as far afield as Roussillon! Recently, the adventure has expanded to Bordeaux.
