Via Caritatis
In 2016, after a few years of partnership, the monks and nuns of Le Barroux abbey decided to join forces with the Cave coopérative de Beaumont. This led to the creation of the Via Caritatis project, a shared identity that works to reward the appellation's winegrowers appropriately, and to walk a more excellent path.

Following in the footsteps of the Gallo-Romans, Pope Clement V, in the early 14th century, understood the potential of this vineyard and replanted it, making it the oldest papal vineyard. Since then, monks, following the rule of Saint Benedict, "Ora et Labora" (Pray and Work), and local winegrowers, have reshaped the vineyard, erecting "bancaous" (terraces) to facilitate vine cultivation and water retention.

These vineyards are perched between 310 and 650 meters above sea level, providing a milder climate than that of neighboring appellations. Situated between the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux, under the sun of the Venaissin county, the plots are protected from the excesses of the Mistral wind. The vineyards of the Via-Caritatis winegrowers and monks are planted at high density, giving their grape varieties an aptitude for ageing. These include Grenache, Cinsault, old Carignans, Syrah, Clairette and Roussanne.

Imbued with noble heritages: monastic, papal, ancient and Provençal, and thanks in particular to the strong values of charity and friendship, the spirit of the monks and winemakers is passed on in their wines. They breathe purity, power, ageing, lightness, subtlety and humility into their range, the perfect link between heaven and earth.
