“This 2016 vintage, made from Grenache (80%) and Carignan and aged for three months in vats, exudes sincerity. The nose is a magnificent bouquet of fruits: wild strawberries, cherries, figs, and blackberries. Centered on intense aromas of licorice and red fruit jam, the palate is just as indulgent, carried by velvety tannins and enlivened by a fresh finish that leaves an impression of elegance and harmony.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2018)

Rated estate (2019 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines regularly receive awards from the guide)
About the wine:
This 2016 vintage, made from Grenache (80%) and Carignan and aged for three months in vats, exudes sincerity. The nose is a magnificent basket of fruits: wild strawberries, cherries, figs, and blackberries. Centered on intense aromas of licorice and red fruit jam, the palate is equally indulgent, carried by velvety tannins and enlivened by a fresh finish that leaves an impression of elegance and harmony.
About the estate:
Founded in 1910, the Maury cooperative winery is now the oldest in the department still in operation. Following the winegrowers’ revolts of 1907, it brought together more than 130 winegrowers. Today, the winery manages 870 hectares of its members’ vineyards; it specializes in Grenache, which produces the traditional natural sweet wines and, since 2011, dry Maury wines.

Worth the wait. Overrated, in my opinion.
