Winemakers of Maury

Founded in 1910 by 132 winegrowers, Les Vignerons de Maury is a cooperative winery comprising men and women who are deeply attached to their terroir and committed to the development of the Maury appellation.

In 1980, to distinguish itself from wine merchants and other appellations, the Vignerons de Maury winery created the stocky "Maury" bottle for its Vins Doux Naturels. By 1990, tastes had changed, and the range expanded to include fruitier, more indulgent wines.

In 2000, at the initiative of a group of volunteers, part of the Maury vineyard was converted to red wine production. Indeed, with an exceptional terroir well-suited to growing Grenache Noir, the winemakers decided to begin producing dry wines. In 2001, it became official, and in 2011, the Maury appellation obtained recognition of the term "dry" for still wine.
