Wine rated (2022 guide) 89/100 (2020 vintage)

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Bergerac, in the far southeast of the appellation: from his organically farmed plots on the limestone plateau and the deep-clay slopes, Julien Auroux looks to the future with confidence. His wines have turned their backs on Bergerac’s past, which sought to imitate Bordeaux reds while neglecting the soil. He, on the contrary, is committed to the path of minerality, of frank and precise aromatic expression, using native yeast, with almost no added sulfur. He is reviving grapes of the past for a return to the future. The range draws on the acidity of the soils for an approachable character and takes a step up this year.
