Alain Brumont - Gros Manseng (Doux) 2012
A delicious and wonderfully aromatic Gros Manseng vintage, with notes of exotic fruits, candied lemon, and pineapple. A lovely acidity on the palate lengthens the finish and gives the wine balance. A typical Gascon sweet wine, well-balanced between sugar and acidity—refreshing and thirst-quenching!

Rated Estate (2023 Guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the estate:
Alain Brumont has forged his own identity through a style that has sent wines from Madiran around the world under the Château Montus label, which he acquired in 1980. Often defying conventional wisdom, Brumont’s wines reflect his great freedom in interpreting terroirs with yellow and red clay subsoils, which vary in composition from 20 to 40 percent. Tannat is featured in the château’s three cuvées—Prestige, XL, Montus, and La Tyre—and undoubtedly delivers the most spectacular profile of this Pyrenean grape, which is not easy to work with.
