88/100
Robert Parker
“All the beauty of the German countryside!”
“The 2021 Haus Klosterberg Riesling (White Cap) is clear, pure, and fresh on the nose, with citrus notes that are crisp, fresh, and wonderfully green. On the palate, it is a fruity, round, and flavorful Riesling, very energetic and stimulating with young, fresh, and crisp tannins. Of medium length and not overly complex, it is a dry and straightforward Riesling. ” (The Wine Advocate 2023)

Another great success in 2021 for this Haus Klosterberg, as refined as ever with its silky texture carried by a beautiful, crystalline freshness. Lively, slender, and textured, the palate unfolds with delicious, ripe flavors of lemon and, to a lesser extent, yellow fruits, supported by a vibrant mineral tension. The very slightly iodine- and stone-like acidity stretches the wine, giving it an incisive character that leads to an infinitely broad finish. Good value for money, with a consistent price for the past three years. Natural and very light at 11.5% ABV, this beautiful Riesling was tasted after aeration, paired with a salmon tartare with lime and Granny Smith apple. Score = 4.2.
