"A geological terroir of great rarity that gives this cuvée its unique character, as the vines grow in volcanic rhyolite!"

“A very elegant dry Moselle Riesling, of medium body, with highly appealing aromas of white peach and wild strawberry. Lovely juiciness on the attack and through the mid-palate. A lingering, very harmonious finish with remarkable delicacy of berries and spices. Drink now or cellars.” (James Suckling 2023)

Wine rated (2024 guide) 92+/100 (An outstanding wine)

Rated estate (2021 guide) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About the wine:

The 2022 Ürziger Würzgarten Spätlese Riesling (white capsule) opens with aromas of blackcurrant and blueberry, along with lovely notes of slate on the nose. On the palate, it is an elegant Riesling, though somewhat drying and phenolic, with a tight tannic structure, yet also intensity and a certain residual sweetness that is not yet fully balanced. 11% alcohol by volume. Natural cork. Tasted at the winery in August 2024. 2029–2050
