Malbec

“The polished and well-developed 2017 Catena Alta Malbec features balsamic aromas and a very appealing blend of flowers, berries, and spices. It exhibits the maturity expected of a warm vintage, with a serious profile, medium body, and fine tannins that cling nicely to the palate. It was fermented as whole clusters and aged in used French oak barrels for about 18 months. I like its austerity and mouthfeel.” (Wine Advocate 2019) - Delivered in a wooden case for any order of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Pickup Point delivery method)

About the wine:

The refined and well-developed 2017 Catena Alta Malbec features balsamic aromas and a very appealing blend of floral, berry, and spice notes. It exhibits the maturity expected of a warm vintage, with a serious profile, medium body, and fine tannins that show good structure. It was fermented as whole clusters and aged in used French oak barrels for about 18 months. I like its austerity and mouthfeel. 150,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in October 2018.

About the wine:

This wine has aged beautifully, with concentrated, dense fruit and fine, dusty tannins. It offers flavors of berries, chocolate, and hazelnut. Subtle complexity. A savory finish. From Agrelo, Gualtallary, and Altamira. Drink now at its best.
