Domaine Franck Chavy - Morgon Oak Barrel Cuvée 2017

Domaine Franck Chavy - Morgon Cuvée fût de chêne 2017

Franck Chavy has produced a wine that represents the very best of Beaujolais, thanks to exceptional climatic conditions and terroir, but above all thanks to the perseverance of this perfectionist at heart. Long maceration (20 days), aging in three different sizes of oak barrels [...]: All the creativity of this passionate technician is expressed in this 2017 Morgon. Here, the Gamay is truly enhanced by subtle aging. The result: aromas of small black fruits preceding notes of spices (wild anise, pepper, mocha) that charmed the jury's tasters." Rated estate (2019 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

The son and grandson of winegrowers, Franck Chavy settled on a few hectares of Morgon in 1991. Through acquisitions and sharecropping, he has expanded his estate, which now covers 9.5 hectares, while establishing himself in the Guide, where he is a sure bet. This success is undoubtedly due in part to the high-density planting (10,000 vines/hectare) and long maceration periods.
