“Named Winemaker of the Year in the 2023 Guide, Franck Chavy has earned another Favorite award, Favorite the one he received for his 2020 Les Granites Roses. The award-winning wine is the no-added-sulfites version of his Morgon, made from approximately 70-year-old vines grown on 1 ha of granitic soil. A complex and distinguished wine that evokes kirsch, humus, and floral notes on the nose. This complexity and elegance are carried through to the palate, which is full-bodied, rich, and dense, supported by a lively acidity that extends the finish and adds to its dynamism and balance. Unbeatable.” (Le Guide Hachette 2026)

About the wine:
Named “Winemaker of the Year” in the 2023 Guide, Franck Chavy has earned another Favorite award, Favorite the one he received for his 2020 Les Granites Roses. This award goes to the version of his Morgon made without added sulfites, crafted from approximately 70-year-old vines grown on 1 ha of granitic soil. A complex and distinguished wine that evokes kirsch, humus, and floral notes on the nose. This complexity and elegance carry over to a full-bodied, rich, and dense palate, supported by a lively acidity that extends the finish and adds to its dynamism and balance. Unbeatable.
About the estate:
The son and grandson of winemakers, Franck Chavy settled in 1991 on a few hectares of Morgon. Through purchases and sharecropping arrangements, he has expanded his estate, which now covers 9.5 hectares, while establishing himself in the Guide, where he is a sure bet. This success is undoubtedly due in part to high-density planting (10,000 vines per hectare) and extended maceration.
