"A Beaunes 1er Cru that's already delicious, but with great aging potential, according to James Suckling!"
“Elegant and fresh, with a wonderful delicacy. I love the floral and red cherry notes. So delicate that it’s hard to believe it has 14% alcohol! Delicious now, but with excellent aging potential. Drink now or save for later.” (James Suckling 2021)

About the wine:
The 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Les Cras makes a good impression, offering aromas of sweet berries, licorice, and dried flowers. Medium-bodied, bright, and mineral, it is an elegant and precise interpretation of this superior hillside premier cru—a Drouhin cuvée that has only recently begun to be bottled separately.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 91-93/100
About the wine:
The 2019 Beaune Cras 1er Cru has a very distinctive bouquet, with aromas of granite—almost flint—that infuse the red fruit. A strong marine influence emerges over time. The palate is beautifully balanced, with well-defined flavors, good firm structure, and a solid, fairly lively finish with a crisp texture. It is brimming with freshness. This Beaune should be enjoyable to drink for 12 to 15 years. Excellent.
