“The 2012 Vaudésir Grand Cru has a fresh, precise, and mineral-driven nose that opens up with aeration. The palate is straightforward, with lovely complexity, hints of orange peel and mandarin, and a touch of ginger that enhances the long finish. Excellent potential. ” (Wine Advocate 2014 - Robert Parker). Vaudésir is a Chablis Grand Cru “built like a Romanesque cathedral,” according to the estate...

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

This family-owned estate, established in Chablis since 1815, changed hands in 2014, becoming part of the Faiveley estate. This expanded Faiveley’s portfolio—already comprising 20 hectares of Chablis’s finest terroirs—to include four grands crus: Les Clos, Les Preuses, Vaudésir, and Les Blanchots; four premiers crus: Montée de Tonnerre, Mont-de-Milieu, Fourchaume, and Vaillons, as well as Chablis and Petit Chablis. Olivier Bailly was appointed estate manager in 2014 and quickly refined the winemaking process. Starting in 2016, the return to top quality became evident, and this estate is now one of the most reliable in Chablis.
