(Notes from the 2013 vintage)

A blend of small Premier Cru parcels owned by the Drouhin estate, Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru reveals complex aromas of Pinot Noir, with notes of violet and black cherry. The palate offers fine-grained tannins and a beautiful balance between freshness and velvety smoothness. A 2014 vintage of exceptional quality!

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

This house is now run by Frédéric Drouhin, assisted by his sister Véronique for the wines and his brother Philippe for the vines. In July 2013, it opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its stride and is establishing itself as a sure bet. The house relies on a biodynamic vineyard that is particularly well endowed with great whites, in Côte-de-Beaune but also in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon label), including the famous Clos des Mouches.
