“A wine as delicate as lace and as smooth as silk!”

“More aromatic and appealing than the Clos des Mouches Rouge. Lots of fruit, but also plenty of acidity, structure, and complexity. A very good result!” (Jancis Robinson 2023)

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

The estate is now led by Frédéric Drouhin, supported by his sister Véronique for the wines and his brother Philippe in the vineyards. In July 2013, it opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its stride and has established itself as a sure bet. The estate draws on a biodynamic vineyard particularly well-stocked with great white wines, in the Côte-de-Beaune as well as in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon label), including the famous Clos des Mouches.

Vinous

Vinous

Wine rated (2023 guide) 90-92/100

About the wine:

The 2021 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru offers a beautifully nuanced bouquet, with more black fruit than red fruit, notes of pressed iris flowers, and a subtle hint of oyster shell. The palate is finely crafted with supple tannins and good structure, though it lacks just a touch of concentration on the finish. A competent Chambolle-Musigny that could well improve in a few years.

James Suckling

James Suckling

Wine rated (2023 guide) 93/100

About the wine:

Generous aromas of red berries with hints of dark chocolate and pepper. A mature, well-structured wine for this appellation, but the moderately dry tannins are already well integrated. A long, elegant finish.
