Jospeh Drouhin - Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru 2008

Rating: Robert Parker 90-91/100
Located below Chambertin, Les Charmes is an extension of Griotte-Chambertin. This Grand Cru offers a fruity initial nose with notes of cherry; a second nose reveals woody, subtly spicy, and elegantly musky aromas. A balanced and rich wine, without heaviness, featuring a truly remarkable finish!

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

The estate is now led by Frédéric Drouhin, supported by his sister Véronique for the wines and his brother Philippe for the vineyards. In July 2013, it opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its stride and is establishing itself as a sure bet. The estate draws on a biodynamic vineyard particularly well-stocked with great white wines, in the Côte-de-Beaune as well as in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon label), including the famous Clos des Mouches.
