“The 2021 Marsannay Clos de Jeu offers a fragrant, fairly rich nose, true to the appellation’s style, very pure and floral. The palate has a slightly tart attack. The fruit profile is a bit darker than on the nose, with a rather short but refreshing finish.” (Vinous 2023). A lovely Marsannay to savor!

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
Olivier Halley, a descendant of the family that owns Promodès and a shareholder in Carrefour, purchased this 40-hectare estate—including 28 hectares of Marsannay—in 2012, at the same time as Château de Meursault, and entrusted its management to Stéphane Follin-Arbelet. The investments in viticulture, technology, and personnel that were necessary because the estate had gone through a difficult period are beginning to pay off. Sylvain Pabion, after working at Bertrand Minchin’s Clos Delorme, joined the château to oversee operations and hospitality. A large reception hall here can seat up to 350 people, which is rare in the Burgundy wine region.
