Marsannay Castle
Château de Marsannay has been owned by the Halley family since 2012; they also own Château de Meursault in the Côte de Beaune. Eager to make the most of the estate’s potential, Olivier Halley has implemented an investment program in both the vineyards and the winery.

The Château de Marsannay estate spans nearly 34 hectares, beginning in the north with the “Montre-Cul” Burgundy appellation in Dijon and ending in the south with vineyards in the Clos de Vougeot. The team also farms nearly 4 hectares of vineyards on a leasehold basis that belong to the Hospices de Dijon. The vineyards are managed using sustainable farming practices, and controlling yields and grape quality is an ongoing priority. Finally, the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand by a team of 100 pickers.

The cellars at Château de Marsannay feature vaulted ceilings in the purest Burgundian tradition and are paved with stone from Meuilley, a small village nearby in the Arrière-Côte region. Modeled after the Cistercian cellars of Château de Meursault, they extend over two levels and descend to a depth of 9 meters. The wines are aged at a constant temperature of 15°C, and the floors are regularly sprinkled with water to maintain a constant level of humidity. The cellars can store approximately 500 cases of wine and up to 400,000 bottles.
