This terroir offers great geological diversity, with bands of different soil types alternating from top to bottom. This wine is characterized by spicy and roasted notes, along with very expressive black cherry fruit. On the palate, it is dense, full-bodied, crisp, and elegant, with a spicy finish. Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide): 3*Stars (High-quality production that serves as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
Olivier Halley, a descendant of the family that owns Promodès and a shareholder in Carrefour, purchased this 40-hectare estate—including 28 hectares in Marsannay—in 2012, at the same time as the Château de Meursault, and entrusted its management to Stéphane Follin-Arbelet. The investments in viticulture, technology, and personnel—which were necessary because the estate had gone through a difficult period—are beginning to pay off. Sylvain Pabion, after working at Bertrand Minchin’s Clos Delorme, joined the château to oversee operations and hospitality. A large reception hall here can seat up to 350 people, which is rare in the Burgundy wine region.
