“The 2013 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Aux Perdrix offers an alluring bouquet of wild strawberries and raspberry jam, with impressive definition and purity, while gaining in intensity after swirling the glass a few times. The palate is soft on the attack, full-bodied and supple, more straightforward than its peers yet balanced, displaying beautiful texture all the way through the finish.” (Wine Advocate 2016 – Robert Parker)

Wine rated (2017 guide) 16/20 (Very good wine)
Rated estate (2021 guide): 4* Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the wine:
Deep color and structure, perhaps a touch too bold, great potential; a “modern” style of wine, yet with all the spicy floral notes characteristic of the terroir.
About the estate:
Run by the Devillard family, who also own Château de Chamirey in Mercurey, the vineyard is situated on remarkable terroirs in the southern part of the Côte de Nuits, and its wines are crafted in the spirit of modern winemaking, seeking high grape ripeness and deep, voluptuous textures. The results have been impressive in recent years, even at the village level, with wines featuring very refined juices where we previously found them rather robust. The full potential of the 2018 vintage has been captured here; these will be wines for aging, and indeed for very long aging in the case of the Nuits and Échezeaux. There is also a delightful red Burgundy.
