“A new vintage from the Guyon estate’s famous 50-year-old Chardonnay vineyard: exemplary floral notes and harmony”
"This vineyard, situated on the slopes of Frétille Hill, produces a luminous wine with a golden hue and green highlights. The fresh nose evokes white flowers and citrus fruits. On the palate, the texture starts out supple but then gains liveliness, carried by a lovely salinity on the finish. A distinguished wine, both full-bodied and taut, that will age gracefully. 2027–2031” (Guide Hachette 2026)

Rated estate (2022 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
With 47 hectares spread across 25 climats, this family-owned estate—composed of countless small plots—boasts a unique viticultural heritage, featuring in particular a first-rate selection of vineyards from the area surrounding the Corton hill. The wines are true to their terroirs of origin, unpretentious, and full of sincerity. The estate is managed by Dominique Guyon, cultivated organically and certified as of the 2018 vintage. The reds, made from partially destemmed grapes, combine ripe fruit with fine tannins. They are faithful expressions of their terroirs, with the 2018 vintage offering a range of well-crafted reds where the Corton Clos-du-Roi leads the pack—which is hardly surprising. Among the whites, the Meursault Charmes-Dessus and Pernand-Sous-Frétille are particularly noteworthy.

About the wine:
The 2023 Pernand-Vergelesses Sous Frétille 1er Cru comes from a 1.12-hectare vineyard, half of which is situated on a steep slope. It has an intense nose, with fresh, light aromas of sea spray and shellfish, which gradually unfold in the glass alongside notes of Granny Smith apples. The palate is fresh on the attack, with notes of apricot and wild peach, and lively and vibrant on the finish. A must-try. 2025–2035

About the estate:
This large 48-hectare estate is located in Savigny-lès-Beaune. In the 1960s, Antonin Guyon purchased parcels of land stretching from Gevrey-Chambertin to Meursault. In 1970, his son Dominique expanded the estate. He succeeded in acquiring 350 plots belonging to nearly 80 owners in the commune of Meuilley in the Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits, totaling 22 hectares. Today, Dominique Guyon manages the estate and oversees winemaking with the help of his cellar master, who is also his vineyard manager, Vincent Nicot. The vineyard is meticulously tended, with plowing, moderate soil amendments, limited yields, and grapes always sorted at harvest time. The estate offers a wide range of wines from both the Côte-de-Nuits and the Côte-de-Beaune, including numerous 1er Crus, several Grands Crus from Corton, and a Charmes-Chambertin. All the wines display beautiful, straightforward fruit and great density.
