About the estate:

With 47 hectares spread across 25 climats, this family-owned estate—composed of countless small plots—boasts a unique viticultural heritage, featuring, in particular, a first-rate selection of vineyards from the area surrounding the Corton hill. The wines are true to their terroirs of origin, unpretentious, and full of sincerity. The estate is managed by Dominique Guyon and has been organically farmed and certified since the 2018 vintage. The reds, made from partially destemmed grapes, combine ripe fruit with fine tannins. They are true reflections of their terroirs, and the 2018 vintage features a range of well-crafted reds, with the Corton Clos-du-Roi leading the pack—which is hardly surprising. Among the whites, the Meursault Charmes-Dessus and Pernand-Sous-Frétille are particularly noteworthy.

Founded in 1960 by Antonin Guyon, this estate is now managed by his son Dominique, who is passionate about winemaking, and supported by the Greek oenologist Kyriakos Kynigopoulos. The winery offers a wide range of wines, with highlights including, in the Côte de Nuits, a remarkable Chambolle Clos du Village, and, in the Côte de Beaune, four superb Cortons, including a Corton-Charlemagne.

The 2023 Pernand-Vergelesses Les Vergelesses 1er Cru offers more complexity and minerality than the Les Fichots, with light aromas of iris flowers mingling with red fruit and a subtle hint of incense. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with good structure. Fresh and lively, it is more precise than the Les Fichots, with a pleasantly savory finish. Recommended. 2026–2040

Soft, delicate, and refined aromas of blue and black fruits with an underlying mineral edge. The palate is linear, with a round, polished texture and a mineral, chalky finish. A beautiful, delicate floral finish. Excellent to drink now, but shows great aging potential. Drink now or save for later.

About the estate:

This large 48-hectare estate is located in Savigny-lès-Beaune. In the 1960s, Antonin Guyon purchased parcels of land stretching from Gevrey-Chambertin to Meursault. In 1970, his son Dominique expanded the estate. He succeeded in acquiring 350 plots—totaling 22 hectares—belonging to nearly 80 owners in the commune of Meuilley in the Hautes-Côtes-de-Nuits. Today, Dominique Guyon manages the estate and oversees winemaking with the help of his cellar master—who is also his vineyard manager—Vincent Nicot. The vineyards are meticulously tended, with plowing, moderate soil amendments, limited yields, and grapes always sorted during harvest. The estate offers a wide range of wines from both the Côte-de-Nuits and the Côte-de-Beaune, including numerous 1er Crus, several Grands Crus from Corton, and a Charmes-Chambertin. All the wines display beautiful, straightforward fruit and great depth.
