“The 2020 Pommard Les Petits Noizons is very appealing, offering aromas of cherries, sweet berries, loamy earth, spices, and orange zest, followed by a medium-bodied, supple, and full-flavored palate. With lively acidity and good depth at its core, this is an elegant and harmonious wine from this premier commune-level lieu-dit.” (Wine Advocate 2022) The quintessence of Pinot Noir, this wine celebrates the balanced marriage of power and elegance.

Rated estate (2023 guide): 3*Stars (High-quality production that serves as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

Frédérick and Franck Buisson, whose family has lived in the village since the 12th century, represent the eighth generation of winemakers at this historic estate in Saint-Romain. Écocert-certified since 2012, they practice viticulture and winemaking using the most natural methods possible. The red wines, which always contain a small proportion of whole clusters, offer a precise expression of their terroir, championing the rediscovery of a Saint-Romain that we have rarely seen at this level. The precise white wines are equally impressive.

Rated Estate (2023 Guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a good standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

Frédéric, the winemaker, and Franck, the sales manager, run one of the largest estates in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune. Having practiced organic farming—certified since 2009—they made the transition to biodynamic farming in 2018. For the past ten years, they have been following the lunar calendar for their bottling. Their meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar allows them to produce deep, distinguished wines that age well. This is an estate that beautifully showcases the Saint-Romain appellation in both reds and whites; the wines are refined, precise, and elegant. A range of wines that fully deserves its first star.
