Maison H. et G. Buisson - Santenay 1er Cru La Comme 2020
91/100
Robert Parker
“Structured and refined”
“Offering aromas of cherries, sweet red berries, and plums intertwined with notes of licorice and spices, the 2020 Santenay 1er Cru Clos de la Comme is medium-bodied to full-bodied, with lively acidity, velvety tannins, and a lingering finish. It is more structured than its communal counterpart, though it remains quite refined.” (Wine Advocate 2022)

Rated estate (2023 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
Frédérick and Franck Buisson, whose family has lived in the village since the 12th century, represent the eighth generation of winemakers at this historic Saint-Romain estate. Certified by Ecocert since 2012, they practice viticulture and winemaking in the most natural way possible. The red wines, which always contain a small amount of whole clusters, offer a precise expression of their terroir, advocating for the rediscovery of a Saint-Romain that we have rarely seen at this level. The precise whites are no exception.

Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
Frédéric, the winemaker, and Franck, the sales manager, run one of the largest estates in the southern part of the Côte de Beaune. Having practiced organic farming—certified since 2009—they made the transition to biodynamic farming in 2018. For the past ten years, they have been following the lunar calendar for bottling. Their meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar allows them to produce deep, distinguished wines that age well. This is an estate that beautifully showcases the Saint-Romain appellation in both red and white wines; the wines are refined, precise, and elegant. A range of wines that fully deserves its first star.
