Joseph Drouhin - Pommard 2018

Pinot Noir
harmonious
class

A great Burgundy that lives up to its reputation. It has an intense, luminous red color and a powerful nose, with notes of black cherry and spices that evolve into hints of new leather. On the palate, the tannins lend a certain firmness, softened by a harmonious richness. It has a lovely, lingering finish.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

The estate is now led by Frédéric Drouhin, supported by his sister Véronique for the wines and his brother Philippe in the vineyards. In July 2013, it opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its stride and has established itself as a sure bet. The estate draws on a biodynamic vineyard particularly well-stocked with great white wines, in the Côte-de-Beaune as well as in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon label), including the famous Clos des Mouches.
