"Famous vineyard"

This is a vineyard renowned above all others! Located south of Beaune, very close to the town, the Pommard site is believed to be one of the oldest wine-growing areas on the Côte. The Pommard Grands Epenots boasts a beautiful deep ruby color. Its nose is elegant and complex: nuances of red fruits (blackcurrant, redcurrant, morello cherry), a traditional expression of Pinot Noir, paired with toasty and spicy notes. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with ripe, supple tannins. Very long finish. Keep it in the cellar for a few years; it will only get better.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

The estate is now led by Frédéric Drouhin, supported by his sister Véronique for the wines and his brother Philippe in the vineyards. In July 2013, it opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its stride and has established itself as a sure bet. The estate draws on a biodynamic vineyard particularly well-stocked with great white wines, in the Côte-de-Beaune as well as in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon label), including the famous Clos des Mouches.
