Rated estate (2022 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often boasting fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)

About the estate:

The estate is now led by Frédéric Drouhin, supported by his sister Véronique for the wines and his brother Philippe in the vineyards. In July 2013, it opened a wine bar in the heart of Beaune. It has found its stride and has established itself as a sure bet. The estate draws on a biodynamic vineyard particularly well-stocked with great white wines, in the Côte-de-Beaune as well as in Chablis (wines sold under the Drouhin-Vaudon label), including the famous Clos des Mouches.

About the wine:

The 2021 Vosne-Romanée Village comes from three vineyards. It offers a lovely bouquet with hints of violet—simple yet effective, well-defined with notes of red cherries and kirsch. The palate is balanced with moderate body, pure red fruit, and an appealing, slightly tart finish. This is a wine with real character. Best enjoyed over the next 8 to 10 years.
