Wine rated (2026 guide) 93/100

Rated estate (2021 guide): 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)

About the estate:

Operated by the Devillard family—which also owns Château de Chamirey in Mercurey—the vineyard is situated on remarkable terroirs in the southern part of the Côte de Nuits, and its grapes are vinified in the spirit of modern wines, seeking high ripeness and deep, voluptuous textures. The results have been impressive in recent years, even at the commune level, with wines that are now very refined—a departure from the more robust styles we were accustomed to. The 2018 vintage has been captured here in all its fullness; these will be wines suitable for aging, and indeed for very long aging in the case of the Nuits and Échézeaux. There is also a delightful red Burgundy.
