“The 2021 Macán [...] is serious, harmonious, and subtle, more elegant than all previous vintages, reflecting the freshness of the year. Wine rated (2026 guide) 95/100 (Extraordinary wine)
Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
The 2021 Macán comes from a vintage marked by above-average rainfall and a few hailstorms in June, which reduced yields, though the weather was favorable during the harvest. It contains 1% Graciano. It has an alcohol content of 14.5%, a pH of 3.8, and five grams of acidity. This year, they used 100% indigenous yeasts, and the wine was aged in new barrels (50%) and 4,000-liter oak casks for 12 months, followed by an additional six months in 20,000-liter oak vats. This wine is serious, harmonious, and subtle, more elegant than all previous vintages, reflecting the freshness of the year. It is well-structured, very well-proportioned, with beautiful balance, freshness, and abundant yet refined tannins. It is one of the best vintages, if not the best to date. A total of 112,755 bottles, 3,354 magnums, and a few larger formats were produced. It was bottled in August 2023. 2026–2037
Jancis Robinson
Wine rated (2025 guide) 18/20
About the wine:
The 2021 vintage is a particularly refined expression of Macán. On the nose, it offers aromas of cedar, graphite, and a hint of India ink, while on the palate it reveals a chalky precision and impressive depth. The oak is much more subtle than in previous vintages, allowing the wine’s innate finesse to express itself clearly. The texture is smooth, almost like pure silk, and the finish is long, harmonious, and subtly powerful. An elegant and precise vintage with excellent aging potential. 2026–2040

Wine rated (2025 guide) 96/100
About the wine:
A depth of fresh black berries and black plums is enhanced by complex notes of graphite, balsam, delicate spices, and cocoa powder, with hints of bay leaf and minerals. The tannins are taut, lively, and chalky. Long and tight, yet well-integrated. One of the finest examples of Macan. An exciting vintage. Drink from 2026.
