"Remarkable in its richness and balance!"
This wine, with its southern character, offers a beautifully concentrated nose of black and candied fruits, accented by spicy notes. A red wine of absolute harmony that combines intensity, fruitiness, and freshness, despite its full-bodied nature and power.

Pretty run-of-the-mill… and too expensive for this level of quality

A less sun-drenched vintage, with a very smooth palate and notes of cocoa and licorice. This wine won't age very well, but it is consistent with the estate's usual quality.

Review by Mr. GILLES D. Published on March 31, 2025
The result of a long and meticulous aging process in barrels and tanks, the Obriers’ 2021 vintage delivers a wine that is as powerful and deep as ever, yet with a more pronounced freshness than in 2020. Its impressively dense texture—somewhere between silk and velvet—along with its subtle aromatic complexity, give rise to a smooth palate generously infused with ripe plums and black cherries, complemented by warm spice flavors, delicate notes of dried herbs, and a hint of cocoa. A sensation of smoothness and delicacy lingers in a beautiful, fragrant finish. The elegant, northern character of Les Obriers makes it a perfect companion for fall cuisine, including a hearty game stew or an omelet with black truffles from the Cévennes. Rating = 4.1.
