"A superb expression of Mauzac!"

"A domaine in great shape, as it is every year. This time, the prize goes to its M Le Mauzac 2016, aged for a long time in the cellar. This explains its delicate bubbles and subtle nose, where citrus fruits are tinged with dried fruit and a fine mineral touch. Silky on the palate, with a caressing texture, light roundness and long-lasting fruit: everything here is refined and tasteful." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022)

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2024 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Françoise Antech-Gazeau masterfully manages this successful wine merchant, which has specialized in sparkling wines for six generations. Nearly a million bottles leave the cellars each year. A wide range of very consistent wines of high quality, with a clear focus on purity, minerality, and freshness. The M30 cuvée, made from Mauzac grapes, impressed us with its wonderful aperitif qualities.

About wine:

A floral and ripe fruit aroma on the nose. Yellow fruits on the palate for this tender and balanced blanquette. The bubbles are lively and creamy.

About wine:

Orchard fruits and freshly dried hay form the bouquet of this pale golden cuvée, with a hint of ginger pie crust in the background. The palate offers appealing flavors of just-ripe orchard fruits and citrus, such as apple, pear, tangelo, and Meyer lemon slices, all blending together in a cohesive mix. Moderate effervescence and generous acidity keep everything fresh and vibrant through the finish.
