This family business dates back to the late 19th century. Today, the sixth generation, represented by Françoise Antech, continues the adventure, centered around the famous Limoux sparkling wine. The Antech estate in Limoux benefits from a magical terroir largely devoted to the production of fine sparkling wines. Located opposite the Pyrenees, the proximity of the mountains and the altitude (400 m) give the wine great freshness; the Mediterranean and oceanic influences bring character; and the south-facing hillside exposure on stony soils provides just the right maturity and full expression of the terroir. Since 2013, Antech has been committed to the Terra Vitis approach to sustainable and responsible viticulture.
In keeping with regional tradition, Antech produces almost exclusively sparkling wines under the appellations Crémant de Limoux, Blanquette de Limoux, and Blanquette Méthode Ancestrale, respecting the traditions of this region. The grape varieties used are faithful to the Limoux recipe: Mauzac, Chenin, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. A collection of fine sparkling wines produced in the pure tradition of Limoux.
Led by Françoise Antech with pride and conviction, the house has set out to reclaim Mauzac with its latest range: M le Mauzac. This purely Occitan endemic grape variety is disappearing from the vineyards in favor of Chardonnay or Chenin. This range brings modernity and new momentum to the Blanquette de Limoux appellation in the hope of seeing this Languedoc grape variety continue to thrive.
