“A truly exceptional expression of Mauzac!”

“An estate in top form, as it is every year. The top prize this time goes to its M Le Mauzac 2016, aged for a long time in the cellar. This explains its delicate effervescence and subtle nose, where citrus notes are tinged with dried fruit and a delicate mineral touch. A silky attack, a caressing texture, a light roundness, and a long-lasting fruitiness: everything here is refined and tasteful.” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022)

Rated estate (2024 guide) 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Françoise Antech-Gazeau masterfully leads this successful wine merchant, which has specialized in sparkling wines for six generations. Nearly a million bottles leave the cellars each year. A broad and consistent range of wines, of high quality, with a clear focus on purity, minerality, and a fresh, balanced profile. The M30 cuvée, made from Mauzac, impressed us with its outstanding ability to serve as an aperitif.

Wine rated (2021 guide) 91/100

About the wine:

Orchard fruits and freshly dried hay form the bouquet of this pale golden wine, with a hint of ginger pie crust in the background. The palate offers appealing flavors of just-ripe orchard fruits and citrus, such as slices of apple, pear, tangelo, and Meyer lemon, all blending together into a cohesive whole. Moderate effervescence and generous acidity keep the wine fresh and vibrant right through the finish.

Light yellow, fine bubbles. Very subtle nose, but pleasant. Quite ripe on the palate—I really like it, even though it’s a bit short.
