“The 2012 Grande Cuvée is a wine whose refreshing and crisp notes of white peach and citrus can already be enjoyed.” ” (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2015). This white wine reveals notes of toast and butter on the initial nose. After swirling, aromas of exotic fruits (mango) and citrus (yuzu, orange blossom) emerge. A wine with a fresh, then fruity attack, round and long on the palate—an elegant, refined, and fresh wine...

Bettane & Desseauve
Wine rated (2015 guide) 14/20 (Good wine)
Rated estate (2025 guide) 2*Stars (A solid, recommendable vintage, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the wine:
The top vintage is also coming along nicely as a white wine. The aging process makes it a bit heavy, but after a short period of aging, it will be full of flavor.
About the estate:
Following in the footsteps of Bernard Durand, who oversaw Pic Saint-Loup’s transition from a mixed-farming operation focused on sheep to its recognition as a quality wine-growing region, his nephew Régis Valentin has taken over the technical reins. Without fanfare, this is an estate worth seeking out for its Vieilles Vignes cuvée—powerful yet flavorful—its Clos des Combes, and its Grande Cuvée. The Cuvée Madame is even more ambitious, and the rosé is consistently delicious.

Review by Mr. JEAN PIERRE D. Posted on September 19, 2017
This wine is currently at the peak of its maturity. It has good concentration, good length, and a lingering finish; it lacks a bit of finesse, but offers very good value for the price. It pairs very well with spider crab and with sole cooked in turmeric and crème fraîche.
