Robert Parker

This pale pink rosé opens with a spicy nose, followed by notes of exotic fruits (mango) and citrus (lemon). The palate reveals a very fresh attack, fruity, crisp, supple, and long... A beautiful table rosé!

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2025 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

After Bernard Durand, who oversaw the conversion of Pic Saint-Loup from mixed farming with a focus on sheep to its recognition as a quality wine-growing area, his nephew Régis Valentin took over the technical reins. Without fanfare, this is a domaine to seek out for its Vieilles Vignes cuvée, which is powerful yet flavorful, its Clos des Combes, and its Grande Cuvée. The Cuvée Madame is even more ambitious and the rosé is consistently delicious.

Hachette Wine Guide

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Régis Valentin, oenologist and cellar master, took over the estate in 2001, which was founded in 1960 by the Durand-Valentin families. He produces wines from 80 hectares of vines (in conversion to organic farming since 2019) on beautiful terroir of hard limestone and red clay. A sure bet in the Languedoc region.

Wine rating (2018 guide) 90/100 (Outstanding wine)

About wine:

This medium-bodied 2017 rosé has a richness that you wouldn't expect from its pale color. It is flavorful and rich, with hints of sweetness but also a consistent, appetizing character and black berry fruit. The blend is 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, and 10% Cinsault, obtained by direct pressing in stainless steel vats.
