Gault & Millau

(2012 Vintage Notes)

New vintage: the 2012 was rated 15.5/20 by Gault Millau
This new cuvée was created in 2012 with the aim of offering a white wine dominated by Chenin, a grape variety particularly prized at the estate. This wine is all fruit, freshness, and liveliness, and is the perfect companion for an aperitif, seafood, or even a grilled sea bream with parsley, for example...

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

A family-owned vineyard dating back to the 12th century, Château de Jonquières boasts a long lineage of 32 generations of winemakers—a rarity in this region! The estate’s wines, with their classic character, remain consistently smooth and harmonious—a classicism that the new generation, now at the helm of the estate, does not intend to challenge but rather to refine. Their dynamism and clear vision seem to be paving the way for renewal. The whites, expressive and easy to drink, blend Chenin and Grenache Blanc. The reds age well, particularly La Baronnie, which refines over two to eight years in the bottle. Lansade, less consistent and precise, nevertheless charms with its rich, indulgent character.
