Château de Jonquières

Château de Jonquières is a family-owned winery. Since its founding in the 12th century, the estate has been passed down from generation to generation without ever being sold. While honoring this rich heritage, the young and charming couple Charlotte and Clément de Béarn (the 32nd generation), both passionate about their work, are revitalizing the estate step by step: converting to organic farming in 2013, replanting hedgerows, launching a new wine, planting vines using mass selection (vines derived from ancient genetic heritage), adoption of a bold, contemporary visual identity, and the organization of a pop-up summer restaurant in partnership with a chef from Montpellier, as well as Wine & Jazz evenings.

The intimate vineyard of Château de Jonquières now spans 9 hectares in the heart of the clay-limestone terroir of the dynamic Terrasses du Larzac appellation. The soil (highly well-drained limestone scree), the climate (wide day-to-night temperature range in summer), and naturally balanced rainfall produce wines of great expression, with finesse and freshness.

The vines are tended with care; the soil is either plowed or left with cover crops. Each plot receives personalized care based on its age (between 25 and 61 years) and grape variety, regardless of whether it is classified as IGP or AOC. The Château de Jonquières estate is now fully certified organic.
