Gault & Millau

"The wines bearing the La Baronnie label are easy to drink and serene, with a distinctly superior depth. Yet ripe and dense, the 2012 white, half Grenache Blanc and half Chenin, displays great finesse. (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2015 - RVF). A dry white wine offering beautiful richness and complexity thanks to the Grenache Blanc, while remaining very subtle... Well worth discovering!

Wine rated 14.5/20 (Good)

About wine:

A fragrant nose that caresses the nostrils with its praline, cooked pear, and navel orange zest aromas. Pleasant and spicy on the palate, lacking depth but with a refreshing finish thanks to its vegetal tones.

About wine:

The wines bearing the La Baronnie label are easy to drink and serene, with a distinctly superior depth. Yet ripe and dense, the 2012 white, half Grenache Blanc and half Chenin, displays great finesse.

About the estate:

A family-owned wine estate since the 12th century, Château de Jonquières boasts a long line of 32 generations of winemakers, which is quite rare for the region! The wines from this estate, with their classic style, are always easy to drink and harmonious—a classicism that the new generation, now running the business, has no intention of challenging but rather refining. Its dynamism and clear vision seem to be paving the way for renewal. The whites, expressive and easy to drink, combine Chenin and Grenache Blanc. The reds age well, particularly La Baronnie, which improves with between two and eight years in the bottle. Lansade, less consistent and precise, nevertheless seduces with its deliciousness.
