Gault & Millau
“The La Baronnie wines are approachable and serene, with a distinctly superior depth. Though ripe and dense, the 2012 white—a blend of half Grenache Blanc and half Chenin—displays great finesse. ” (The Guide to the Best Wines of France 2015 - RVF). A dry white offering lovely richness and complexity thanks to the Grenache Blanc, while remaining very subtle... A must-try!

Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Wine rated 14.5/20 (Good)
About the wine:
The nose is fragrant, caressing the nostrils with notes of praline, baked pear, and navel orange zest. The palate is pleasant and spicy, though lacking in depth, but the finish is refreshing thanks to its herbal notes.

About the wine:
The wines bearing the La Baronnie label are approachable and serene, yet distinctly more complex. Although ripe and full-bodied, the 2012 white—a blend of half White Grenache and half Chenin—displays great finesse.
About the estate:
A family-owned vineyard dating back to the 12th century, Château de Jonquières boasts a long lineage of 32 generations of winemakers—a rarity in this region! The estate’s wines, with their classic character, remain consistently smooth and harmonious—a classicism that the new generation, now at the helm of the estate, does not intend to challenge but rather to refine. Their dynamism and clear vision seem to be paving the way for renewal. The whites, expressive and easy to drink, blend Chenin and Grenache Blanc. The reds age well, particularly La Baronnie, which refines over two to eight years in the bottle. Lansade, less consistent and precise, nevertheless charms with its rich, indulgent character.
