Wine rated (2021 guide) 88/100

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Fresh, lively, and aromatic, this simple yet effective wine delights with its vibrant fruit and crisp palate!

About the estate:

A family-owned vineyard since the 12th century, Château de Jonquières boasts a long lineage of 32 generations of winemakers—which is quite rare for the region! The estate’s wines, with their classic character, are always smooth and harmonious—a classic style that the new generation, now at the helm of the estate, has no intention of challenging but rather of refining. Their dynamism and clear vision seem to be paving the way for a new era. The whites, expressive and easy to drink, blend Chenin and Grenache Blanc. The reds age well, particularly La Baronnie, which refines over two to eight years in the bottle. Lansade, while less consistent and precise, nevertheless charms with its rich, indulgent character.

Lackluster on the nose, short on the palate. An unremarkable wine lacking structure. Disappointing.
