Bettane & Desseauve

(Notes from the 2012 vintage)

Light, delicious, and easy to drink, the Rouge Carmen cuvée is above all a wine for immediate enjoyment, with a fruity flavor. A blend of Gamay, Grolleau, and Cabernet Franc, the estate seeks to express the fruit in a round and flavorful palate. This cuvée, which has already won over several Michelin-starred restaurants, is the perfect accompaniment to any convivial occasion!

Rated estate (2019 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

Roger-François Béguinot, who made his fortune in baby food, and his wife fell in love with Château Soucherie in 2007. This 28-hectare estate is beautifully situated on a south-facing schist hillside between Beaulieu and Rochefort, in the Anjou, Savennières, Coteaux du Layon, and Chaume appellations.
