“A remarkable personality and great finesse!”
“A clean, precise nose. Dense on the palate, yet consistently clean. A lovely mouthfeel and texture, with mouth-watering acidity. Refined and sharp, with plenty of energy. Elegant as well. Already very enjoyable, but should age well.” (Jancis Robinson 2025) Wine shipped without a capsule

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated 2 stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more conventional and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
This 45-hectare vineyard, 80% of which is planted with Chenin, produces a wide range of white wines. René handles the winemaking, while his older brother Christophe tends the vines. They aren’t organic, to be sure, but the soil is worked “their own way.” In the cellar, the same meticulous care prevails, with a variety of vats of all kinds (stainless steel, cement, cylindrical, buried, 30-hectoliter wooden vats by Stockinger...), suited to crafting nuanced and complex wines. The sweet wines are the estate’s greatest strength, as is the Savennières series (13 hectares), impeccably balanced.

About the estate:
This 46-hectare estate, formed by the merger of two family-run vineyards, has been managed by René Papin since 2010. It is particularly renowned for the quality of its white wines, both dry and sweet. A must-visit.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 92/100
About the wine:
The 2022 Savennières Clos le Grand Beaupréau possesses a powerful core that is soft and full-bodied thanks to the warmth of the growing season. Initially charming, it then reveals spicy notes, a lively structure, and a refined profile. However, everything is a bit softer this season compared to some cooler years. It has an appealing aroma with floral notes.
