Bouches du Rhône

Famous for their rosé wines, the vineyards of the Provence-Côte d'Azur region also offer a wide selection of equally exceptional red and white wines. The IGP wines of Bouches-du-Rhône benefit from a Mediterranean climate, with mild winters and hot, sometimes even very hot summers, with temperatures reaching up to 40°C. Rainfall is irregular and often takes the form of violent storms. The Mistral, a fierce wind in the region, has a beneficial influence on the vines. The IGP Bouches-du-Rhône vineyards, which stretch along the coast or wind through the valleys of the hinterland, offer a superb setting with a wide variety of accents.

As in all Mediterranean vineyards,the IGP Bouches-du-Rhône offers a wide variety of grape varieties. Forthe Bouches-du-Rhône redIGP, these include Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Cabernet Franc, Mourvèdre, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Counoise. Forthe Bouches-du-Rhône IGP red and white, winegrowers mainly use Ugni-blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Grenache Blanc, and Rolle. Muscat à Petits Grains, Chasan, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon are also found. The IGP Bouches-du-Rhône wines presented by Château Revelette and Domaine de Trévallon are particularly noteworthy.
