"Intense ruby color. The expansive, mineral nose reveals aromas of ripe red fruits, flora, incense and exotic spices. Juicy, polished and seductively smooth, this Gigondas has a seamless texture to its intense flavors of Chambord, cherry-cola, lavender pastille and Asian spices, which convey a suave blend of power and delicacy. Mineral and floral notes carry through to a surprisingly long, precise finish, shaped by delicate, tightly-knit tannins." (Vinous 2023)

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
Benjamin Gras follows in his father Yves's footsteps, crafting with the same talent a range of profound, elegant parcel wines, where the purity of fruit is a real obsession. A polished style, in which the wines abandon a little generosity and concentration in favor of pure delicacy. In Gigondas as in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, the wines have a style of their own that will leave no one indifferent.

Wine rated ( 2024 guide) 90-92/100 (Great wine)
Domaine noté (guide 2024) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
Made from a blend of eight parcels on the Gigondas plateau, Gigondas Aux Lieux-Dits 2021 is a powerful wine, with notes of rose and garrigue adding to those of cherry. It is medium to full-bodied, ripe and silky to the touch, with great concentration and length.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 91/100
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
The palette is seductive, with notes of peony, rosewood and a touch of whole grape harvest. A hint of acetate also underlines. Ample on the palate, the wine is tactilely fine with an infused frame. The palate is not very extracted, but the finish remains tannic and requires a little time.
About the domain :
Yves Gras took over the reins of this emblematic Gigondas estate in 1985. He established a full-bodied, fleshy style, without being devoid of finesse, and international recognition was immediate. Several projects enriched the estate: the renovation of Clos Derrière Vieille in 1994; and the acquisition of fine terroirs in Châteauneuf-du-Pape in 2009: Saintes Pierres, La Crau Ouest, Le Pied de Baud, Les Pradel and La Font du Pape. In 2017, the arrival of Benjamin, the son, brought a new dynamic and a stylistic change. The wines still display race and power, but now have more infused textures. Their mouthfeel is diffusely powerful and their tactile sensations more graceful. The woodiness is also better integrated. The estate is biodynamic, vinification is carried out with indigenous yeasts, whole harvests are only partially used, and the wines are not filtered before bottling. The uniqueness of each cuvée leads us to award the first star as soon as the estate enters the guide.
