Cauhapé Estate
The Domaine de Cauhapé, owned by Henri Ramonteu, is nestled in the heart of Jurançon, between the Pyrenees and the Atlantic. The Domaine de Cauhapé's vineyards stretch across 40 hectares of hillsides, generously exposed to the southeast. The characteristic climate of the Southwest region combines mountain rigor and oceanic mildness. Combined with the quality of the terroir, a precious blend of clay, silica, and pebbles, it allows the quintessence of the noble grape varieties of Jurançon to be expressed here: Gros Manseng and Petit Manseng.

The Gros Manseng plots are mainly reserved for the production of dry white wines appreciated for their freshness and rich aromas. Petit Manseng, harvested in successive stages, produces the great sweet white wines of the Southwest, evoking candied fruit, roast meat, honey... the very expression of passerillage. When nature works to this end, it is sometimes left to its own devices until the first frosts of winter, so that the vines offer their last grapes, embossed by frost and time. They are then delicately picked, lovingly vinified, and patiently aged in oak barrels. This is how the different Cauhapé vintages flourish: "Noblesse du Temps," "Quintessence du Petit Manseng," and sometimes even "Folie de Janvier." These are beautiful illustrations of the harmony between the traditions of the terroir, controlled modernity, and human sensitivity.
