(2017 Vintage Notes)

This fresh, fruity white wine offers subtle notes of citrus, tropical fruits, and acacia. The palate is fresh and full-bodied, with a beautiful balance of flavors. The estate’s signature style is evident in the harmonious blend of two key qualities: the complexity and approachability of each vintage.

Rated estate (2025 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

Founded around 1850, this family-owned estate has been passed down through six generations. Following in the footsteps of his father Louis, Didier Barré, who took over in 1983, played a key role in the revival of Madiran, becoming one of its leading advocates. In 2017, sisters Claire and Marion Bortolussi (daughters of Alain Bortolussi of Château Viella) took the reins of this flagship 25-hectare estate by forming a partnership with wine merchant Lionel Osmin to manage the vineyard operations and market the wines. The transition to organic farming began in 2020.

Deep golden yellow color with pinkish highlights. Aromas of acacia blossoms and quince. A lively attack, followed by a generous palate with great freshness. A taut, long finish. A beautiful Pacherenc!

Too young for my taste. The acidity hasn't integrated into the wine yet. That said, you can already sense its potential. Try it again in a year.
