About the wine:
From the left bank of the Rhône (with limestone soils and fewer hours of sunshine), the 2018 Dôle la Liaudisaz is a blend of about 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Gamay, and a tiny bit of Gamaret and Diolinoir. Fermented separately, the blend was aged in enamel-lined tanks for one year. The bouquet is bright, pure, supple, and fresh, with notes of crushed and weathered stone. On the palate, it is a fresh, pure, and intense red with a silky texture, finely crisp tannins, and a straightforward character with a salty-spicy finish. Subtle yet highly refined. Tasted at the estate in Fully in January 2020.

A crisp, fruity flavor with a hint of sweetness reminiscent of Beaujolais Nouveau. It’s good, but let’s be honest—it’s a wine for hipsters; you’re paying for the winemaker’s fame.
