“From the left bank of the Rhône, Marie-Thérèse Chappaz’s deep-colored 2018 Grain Pinot Champ Dury opens with a very ripe, less concentrated bouquet featuring more plum notes. [...] The plum-driven nose leads to a warm, intense, and round palate with super-ripe, sweet fruit, structured by ripe tannins and a firm minerality that, in fact, offers hope for the future.” (Wine Advocate 2020 - Stephan Reinhardt)

About the wine:

From the left bank of the Rhône, Marie-Thérèse Chappaz’s dark-colored 2018 Grain Pinot Champ Dury opens with a very ripe, less concentrated bouquet featuring more notes of plum. The 2018 tastes like a wine bottled without sulfur, and Marie-Thérèse agrees that she could have added more but believes the wine will be more precise and fresh in three or four years due to its phenols. The plum nose leads to a warm, intense, and round palate with super-ripe, sweet fruit, structured by ripe tannins and a firm minerality that, in fact, offers hope for the future. Tasted in January 2020.
